Dew & Cobwebs : Art Deco Aquamarine Filigree Ring in 14ct White Gold

AU$975Approximately US$640

The delicacy of the handmade filigree in this miniature marvel makes my mind boggle. It’s hard to believe that something so intricate and fine could be made by human hands. A true labour of love, impossible to replicate today: an embodiment of the spirit of 1930’s Art Deco.

Set with a fancy ovaloid cut natural aquamarine of a beautiful mid blue, this ring’s last owner had it sized very small to be worn as a pinky ring. While that does look very cute, it can be sized back up! I’m offering a complimentary resize and rhodium plating for the new owner of this wee wonder. Please see the section on Size for more details.

Manufacture:
Handmade in 14ct white gold, with saw pierced filigree undercarriage decorated with milgrain edging. Stamped 14k to the inside of the band, verified by XRF test. Likely made in the United States.

The aquamarine is a fancy cut ovaloid – not a true oval the top and bottom of the oval shape have been clipped flat. It has been verified as natural by an independent gemologist. It measures approximately 8.1mm x 5.07mm x 3mm – .62 carats. The aquamarine is set with four claws.

The face of the ring measures 11.15mm x 9.3mm.
Sits 5.73mm high on the finger.
Weighs 1.64 grams

Size:
(Aus/UK) F (USA) 2.75 (International) 44
sizable up to M/6.25/52.5
resizing is complimentary on this ring and includes rhodium plating.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Would benefit from rhodium plating to return its bright white gleam. Some thinning of the shank, but still in good, wearable condition.
