Passionate Pink : Art Deco Filigree Cluster Ring with Pink Sapphire (Ruby) & Old European Cut Diamonds

AU$2,750Approximately US$1,805

This is a ring for lovers. The epitome of late Art Deco romantic rings, made with fastidious attention to detail and a fine selection of drop dead gorgeous gemstones. The heart of the matter is the natural deep pink gemstone. You may call it a pink sapphire or a ruby – the only difference between pink sapphire and ruby is the depth of colour, and the hue of this stone sits right in the balance. No matter what name you give it the colour is a delight to the eye. Rubies have long been associated with romantic love, and this one is bound to steal your heart.

Surrounding the ruby is a halo of high quality plump old European cut diamonds that twinkle almost maniacally. Underneath the platinum face of the ring is one of the most romantic filigree designs I’ve ever seen, all hand pierced in 18ct white gold with adorable little hearts in the middle. The filigree is not only decorative, but also allows light to reach the underside of the stones for maximum colour and sparkle.

This fantastic jewel would make an ideal engagement ring, but please don’t let that stop you from buying it for yourself. (I know I never do.)

You can see a brief video of this ring on my instagram account @secret_histories or online here (it’s the second slide).

(In 2017 this ring was appraised at $4900 Australian Dollars, you can expect a recent valuation to be higher.)
