Sincerity : Georgian Era Bow Pendant in Turquoise and Pearl Pavé

A rare, exquisite and adorable three dimensional bow pendant dating to the mid to late 18th Century, circa 1760, during the Georgian Era. Handmade in silver over 12ct gold and pavé set with teeny tiny turquoise cabochons and wild ocean pearls.

This piece was made to compliment ladies fashion of the times for gauzy lightweight fabrics in pale colours, low scooping necklines and empire waistlines. It was likely worn on a length of ribbon. Ladies of this era changed outfits and jewellery throughout the day, this piece would have been worn as a daytime jewel – suitable for visiting with friends, picnic parties, and strolls through public parks arm in arm with your bestie or beau.

Manufacture: 
Handmade in silver and 12ct gold in the shape of a three dimensional bow tied in ribbon.
There are no hallmarks present as is correct for jewellery of this period, the metal content has been verified by XRF test.

The silver top has been set with tiny turquoise cabochons and split wild ocean pearls.

The pendant measures 21.25mm (not including the oversized bail) x 17.73mm x 7.7mm.
Weighs 3.54 grams.

Condition: 
Excellent antique condition. The turquoise cabochons are all present and have retained their characteristic robins egg blue hue. There is one tiny half millimetre pearl missing.
