Peach Twist : Vintage Angel Skin Coral Torsade Necklace with 9ct Gold Clasp

♥Sold♥

There are hundreds of delicately coloured natural “angel skin” coral beads, threaded on to three strands of silk thread and fastened with a new 9ct gold safety clasp in this vintage torsade necklace. I’ve dated this strand of beautiful beads circa 1960 due to the length of the strand and the styling of the beads, but I have to admit this period is not my strong suit.

Coral is now an endangered and restricted resource, but coral of this hue was once harvested in abundance in the oceans off the coast of Italy and Japan.

Manufacture:
Hundreds (too many to count!) of 3.75mm diameter natural coral beads are strung on three strands of silk thread. The clasp and findings are all new and made of 9ct gold.

The beads show a beautiful variation of peachy hues in the shade commonly referred to as “Angel Skin”. Upon magnification it is possible to see the growth lines of the coral, and occasionally a small natural blemish. The majority of the beads are spherical and unblemished, with the occasional bead showing a natural indentation.

The necklace is 60cm (23 3/4″) long.
Weighs 17.86 grams.

The necklace can be worn with the strands twisted (as shown) or untwisted.

Condition:
In excellent condition and ready to wear.
