Five Planets : Vintage 1950s 14ct Gold Bangle with Australian Crystal Opals

Dating to the 1950s, this vintage 14ct hinged bangle is set with five incandescent solid Australian crystal opal cabochons in high pronged settings with a rope detail that wraps around the bangle between the stones. The oval shape of the bangle prevents it from spinning on the wrist.

Manufacture:
This oval shaped hinged bangle is of sturdy but hollow construction, modeled in 14ct yellow gold with a 14k hallmark on the tongue of the clasp. It opens and closes smoothly and securely, the original safety chain is present and in good order.
Weighs 10.16 grams.

Five solid Australian crystal opal cabochons of the highest quality are held in high pronged settings along the top of the bangle, with a rope detail that twists around the bangle between the stones. The bottom section of the bangle is smooth.
Each of the opal cabochons is 4.15mm in diameter.

Size:
The bangle has an inner circumference of  16.5cm (6.5″).

Condition:
Excellent. Minimal signs of wear, no faults to note.
