Description
A late 20th Century modernist ring, modelled in 18ct gold with a black opal (likely a doublet) and two fine white brilliant cut diamonds.
The ring is hallmarked to the inside of the band PL&18ct, which I believe is a makers mark (PL) and fineness mark. I have had the ring XRF tested to confirm is is solid 18ct gold throughout.
The central black opal (likley doublet) measures 7.5mm x 9.5mm and is held in a tapered rub-over bezel. One one side of the opal are two fine white brilliant cut diamonds, of 3mm diameter and 2.2mm diameter with a total carat weight of approximately 0.14 carat.
A high swirl of gold wraps around the opal and alongside the diamonds in an organic form similar to that of a cala lily.
The ring sits 6.42mm high on the finger.
Weighs 6.16 grams.
