I’m the first to admit it doesn’t really make sense that these gorgeous rainbow-filled earrings should remind me of the baby teeth of a mythical creature, but they do, and I struggle to see anything else. Dragon teeth would, of course, be pointy like canines, and not chompy incisors as the shape of these suggest, but I do hope you’ll indulge me in this small fantasy. The teeth part is entirely made up, but the opals are very much real and incredible in their display of bold shimmering colours.
These drop earrings feature two semi-black solid Australian opals in triangular shapes. These earrings are gold plated, which is a rare departure for my shop, but the quality of the opals is so good I thought to make an exception. I have considered having them reset into solid gold, but it seemed more fun to offer them as they are – fine semi-black opal earrings at an affordable price are rare as hens teeth.
The solid Australian opals have the pattern referred to as “broad flash” with large predominant flashes of colour. Both earrings have an abundance of read and orange fire, mixed with yellow and blue, one of the earrings also has large splashes of green.
They are light on the ear with lots of movement – perfect for catching the light and throwing back bold rainbows of colour. Fun and easy to wear.
Manufacture:
Two solid semi-black Australian opals in triangular shapes, set in gold plated drop settings with closed backs. The small hooks are also gold plated.
The opals measure approximately 13mm x 6.3mm x 2.24mm each.
The earrings have a total drop of 25.6mm.

Condition:
Very good. Some slight wear to the gilding visible under magnification. The opals are free from chips, scratches or crazing. Ready for immediate and everyday wear.
