Little Cloud : Antique Old Cut Diamond Cluster Ring in 18ct and Platinum

♥Sold♥

The arrangement of old European cut and transitional cut diamonds in this antique diamond cluster ring look very much like a sweet little puffy cloud; stratocumulus perhaps. A friendly little sunny day fluffy friend, with added sparkle magic ✨☁️

This ring dates to the early 20th century, and could comfortably be described as Edwardian or early Art Deco, circa 1900 – 1920.

Manufacture:
Made in 18ct yellow gold with a platinum top. The ring is hallmarked 18ct to the inside of the band, and the metal content has been verified by XRF test. A makers mark H.G.R is also present, I have been unable to identify the maker.
Weighs 2.34 grams.

The nine antique diamonds are a mixture of old European cuts and transitional cuts. Each measuring approximately 2mm in diameter, with a total diamond carat weight of 0.45 carats. They have been verified as natural by an independent gemologist, who has graded the stones as between K-M in colour and Si-P1 in clarity.

The diamonds are set into a platinum top plate, each of the diamonds secured with bead and/ or bezel settings.
The face of the ring measures 12.4mm x 8.18mm. Sits 4.68mm high on the finger.
A saw pierced coronet undercarriage allows light to penetrate the diamonds for maximum sparkle, it is gently flared to the top.
The shoulders of the ring are a slender knife-edge, tapering to a classic half-round band of 1.84mm wide.
