Heirloom Bloom : Antique Gilt Metal and Paste Pansy Brooch

♥Sold♥

Luscious deep purple and honey gold stones beam out of this an antique pansy brooch. Dating to the early 19th Century, made in gilt metal and set with foil backed paste stones imitating amethyst and citrine. I believe this piece was converted into a brooch (from what I’m not sure, a shoe or belt buckle perhaps?) in the 1800s. It makes a gorgeous unisex statement piece, best worn on heavyweight fabric like a coat or jacket due to the weight.

The brooch measures 28.55mm x 23.10mm x 9mm.
Weighs 7.7 grams
