Once Upon A Time : Art Nouveau Ruby, Diamond and Pearl Drop Pendant in Platinum and 14ct gold

As sweet and whimsical as a fairytale romance, this delightful jewel stole my heart and I have no doubt it will do the same to you. So enchantingly lovely it is hard to believe this is the work of a skilled human hand and not that of the fey folk. A delicate synthesis of Edwardian airiness and sinuous Art Nouveau flowing lines, circa 1905.

Modelled in platinum over 14ct yellow gold, set with one round cut ruby and twenty seven rose cut diamonds with a natural pearl drop, the elegance of this jewel will make your heart leap for the joy of looking at it. An unforgettable delight.

Manufacture: 
Handmade in 14ct yellow gold with a platinum top, hallmarked to the reverse 585 for 14ct gold, with a triple leaf stamp that I have unfortunately been unable to attribute to a country or maker. Likely continental European in origin.

The round cut natural ruby measures 3.35mm in diameter and it a bright pinkish light red colour with very slight inclusions -VS clarity, 0.17 carats estmated weight.
It is set in a 14ct yellow gold coronet mount with milgrain edging.

The twenty seven old rose cut diamonds are assorted sizes and shapes, mostly bright white and ranging from F-H in colour and Vs-Si clarity, with one P1 clarity. The combined diamond weight is 0.40 carats.
The diamonds are individually bead set in platinum.

At the bottom a single silvery cream free form drop shaped natural pearl dangles from a gold wire.

The pendant measures 43mm x 19.5mm x 6mm.
Weighs 3.62 grams.

Condition: 
Excellent. Very minor signs of wear are visible under magnification. This piece has been treasured for generations. Ready for immediate wear.
