Old World Glory : Victorian Era Etruscan Revival 18ct Gold Flower Earrings

♥Sold♥

Inspired by the archeological finds from the ancient world, these antique earrings were made in the Archeological Revival Period circa 1860 – 1880. These glorious earrings appear to have a particularly Etruscan influence. They are beyond amazing, easily the most incredible earrings from this period I’ve ever had the pleasure to offer. I’ve never seen anything to match them.

The centrepiece of each earring is a large three dimensional flower with two rows of delicate petals. Is it a lotus? A sunflower? An exotic bloom that no longer exists? Every surface of the flower is covered in intricate detail and texture. Each flower is housed in a saucer of gold, with bauble embellishments around the perimeter and sides.

The saucers are attached by a hook and loop fitting to a three dimensional sphere of gold, covered in baubles of gold. The long shepherd’s hook earwires are affixed to the spheres.

These earrings are absolutely timeless investment pieces you can wear every day. I admit to being more than a  smidge jealous of whomever takes them home (but can we be friends? You have -great- taste!).
