Old Faithful : Antique Emerald and Single Cut Diamond Cluster Ring in 9ct Rose Gold

♥Sold♥

A dear little treasure, imbued with several lifetimes of love. This delightful natural emerald and single cut diamond cluster ring has been remade and repaired over time, as only jewels with deep personal significance can be. The cluster of gemstones is possibly part of a much older jewel, given a new life with the addition of a newer shank – the modification made decades ago. Brimful of secret histories, this treasure is perfect for those starting out on their antique jewellery journey.

At the centre is a bright natural emerald surrounded by a halo of natural single cut diamonds. Each of the gemstones is held in a claw setting with a closed back. The closed back and prongs is suggestive of an early Victorian era jewel, the later shank was likely added in the middle of the 20th Century.

Manufacture:
Modelled in 9ct rose gold throughout, the ring has no hallmarks bu the gold content has been verified by XRF test.

The emerald and diamond gemstones have been verified as natural by an independent gemologist.
The vivid green emerald has a diameter of approximately 4.2mm. The seven single cut diamonds are all sighltly different sizes, approximately 2mm in diameter each, with an estimated total diamond carat weight of 21 points or 0.21 carats. The diamonds are very bright and sparkly, a mix of colour and clarities.

The flower like cluster is set onto a reeded split shank, measuring 4.16mm wide at the shoulders and tapering to 2.7mm at the back of the band. The band is 0.87mm thick.

Weighs 1.9 grams.

Size N 1/2 or 7.
resizable by your local bench jeweller, or please contact us for a quote. Resizing starts at $40 Australian dollars.

Condition:
The emerald does have a chip, not uncommon in old emeralds as they are brittle stones. The chip is visible in raking light, but most of the time you’ll be pleased with her glorious colour. The sparkle of the single cut diamonds (and the price point) is more than enough to make up for this flaw, which can be considered commensurate with age.

Ready for immediate and everyday wear.
