Description
A strikingly unusual heavyweight Sterling silver watch chain from the late Victorian era, circa 1880. Made in the style known as “Double Albert” with two equal lengths of chain separated by a t-bar and finishing with a dog clip. This example is constructed from three different types of link, each engraved with foliate patterns.
The necklace measures 50.5cm or 20″ in length.
The links are 7.87mm wide and 6.5mm deep.
Weighs 44.38 grams.
Hallmarked “sterling” to the inside of each of the swivel dog clips, and 925 to the t-bar.
Incredible original condition with very little sign of wear.
