Deco Diamond Drops : 1920s 18ct and Platinum Earrings wth Rose Cut Diamonds

♥Sold♥

Possibly the most practical pair of antique earrings I’ve ever had, these high quality drops are effortlessly easy to wear, and suitable for every occasion from smart casual to black tie.

Circa 1920, this decidedly early Art Deco drops are modelled in 18ct yellow gold with platinum tops and set with three rose cut diamonds each. The lever back fittings keep them safely in place despite whatever your hair wants to do, or however vigorously the music moves you on the dance floor, something I always value highly in a pair of earrings.
Light on the lobes with a delicate sparkle from the old diamonds. Just the right amount of luxury for everyday wear.

Manufacture:
Modelled in 18ct gold with platinum tops, these earrings have no hallmarks but the metal content has been verified by XRF test.

The top of each earring is an elongated triangle with a 2.1mm diameter rose cut diamond at the top and a cascade of plantinum bobbles towards the tip. The outside edge is picked out in fine milgrain detail.
Below this tapering section dangles another small rose cut diamond in a bezel setting with milgrain detail, attached to a 6mm diameter hexagon shaped section, with an internal cut-out in which is secured another, larger 3mm rose cut diamond in a bezel setting with milgrain detail. The top of these sections is again in platinum topped 18ct gold.

The earrings have a drop of 26mm
Weigh 2.16 grams (pair)

You can see a little video of these earrings on my Instagram feed @secret_histories or online here.

Condition:
Excellent. These earrings have been professionally polished and are ready for immediate, everyday wear.

** please note that the antique box is for styling purposes only. The earrings will arrive gift boxed.
