Roses for Love : Victorian Era ‘Rose de France’ Amethyst Heart Pendant in 9ct Rose Gold

♥Sold♥

‘Rose de France’ is the name given to amethyst gemstones that have a markedly pinkish lavender hue, like the large amethyst heart in this arresting Victorian Era pendant, circa 1880. Shimmering in hues that vacillate between pale pink and deep lavender, this divine jewel is a most glorious way to bare your heart.

Set in a 9ct rose gold clawed coronet setting, the rosy gold looks exceptionally well against the natural amethyst.

Manufacture:
Modelled in 9ct rose gold with a solid underrail and clawed coronet setting. There are no hallmarks present, as is common for jewels of this era, the metal content has been verified by XRF test.

The large natural amethyst heart is pinkish purple in hue with an even colouration. It has been verified by an independent gemologist. The amethyst measures approximately 17.8mm x 16.6mm x 9.1mm – about 11.7 carats.

The pendant measures 21.86mm (not including the bail) x 17.5mm x 9.2mm.
Weighs 4.16 grams.

Condition:
Excellent. There are no chips or scratches to the gemstone and no damage or repairs to the gold mount. Ready for immediate wear.
