Fuchsia Circlet : Pink Cabochon Half Hoop Ring in 14ct Gold

♥Sold♥

A hot pink mystery ring, this ring is so very unique I’m having a lot of trouble establishing its origin story, and because of the way the stones are cut and set it left the experts scratching their heads about the juicy pink berry stones!

A contemporary take on the Georgian Era ‘half hoop’, this ring is modelled in 14ct gold and set with 10 fuscia coloured cabochon stones, each with a slightly different hue, many with the appearance of pink tourmaline. One of the gemstones has revealed itself to be a ruby as it glows under ultraviolet light, but the other stones would not submit to any of the standard gemological tests: too small for the refractometer, and under the microscope it was a jumble of refraction and reflection. In order to get a definitive answer I would have to have the stones unset, which I would like to avoid, so I’m offering it to you as paste instead. A little hot pink bargain.

Manufacture:
Handmade in 14ct rose gold, hallmarked 14k to the inside of the band. Each of the pink cabochons is set in a full bezel setting with an open back with deep crimped details around the edges, imitating Georgian Era ‘half hoop’ rings from the 1800s.

The stones are approximately 3.45mm in diameter, the ruby cabochon sitting slightly higher than all the others.

Size:
L1/2 or 6
very slightly resizable

Condition:
Very good. Under magnification it is possible to see some wear to the surface of the stones, but to the naked eye they are bright, bold and glistening. Ready for everyday wear.
