Fletching : Art Deco Chevron Pattern Wedding Band by Wendts of Adelaide

AU$550Approximately US$361

An Australian take on the iconic Art Deco “wheat pattern” wedding band circa 1930. This 18ct gold buttery deliciousness has been engraved in alternating sections with a chevron pattern, which reminds me of the fletching of arrows that keeps them flying straight and true.

The traditional wheat pattern is similar in appearance and often found on American made bands from the same period. The wheat pattern was an aspirational symbol for a new union, symbolising fertility, growth and abundance.

This piece was made by Adelaide family jewellery firm Wendts of Adelaide who traded from the 1880s to the 1980s.
