Baby Pearls : Vintage 50cm 3.8mm Akoya Pearl Necklace with 14ct Diamond Set Clasp

A slender strand of ever so slightly out of round baroque akoya pearls, fastened with a 14ct yellow and white gold clasp which is set with small single cut diamonds. Perfect for layering or wearing with pendants, this elegant strand of baby white lustrous pearls can look cute or au courant depending on your styling.

78 3.8mm well matched white baroque pearls are individually knotted to form this 50cm (approx 20″) long strand. The pearls are ever so slightly out of round, making them ‘baroque’ even though you would not notice their slightly drop shape at a glance.
This strand is slightly longer than the classic “princess” length but sits at about the same length due to the small size of the pearls.

The clasp is made of 14ct yellow gold in the shape of a flower, with white gold detail to the petals – each set with a small single cut diamond. A 5mm pearl is set in the centre of the flower. The back of the clasp is hallmarked 585 and 14k gold fineness. The clasp measures 11mm x 11mm x 9mm. The tongue has an additional makers mark: AA inside a diamond shaped cartouche. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to identify the maker. The tongue also features an ingenious safety feature which will prevent the strand from coming undone – it also makes it a little different to do up, but fortunately the strand is long enough to do up in front and be able to see what you are doing.

The pearl strand weighs 9.6 grams

In near new vintage condition – the pearls retain their glowing pearly whiteness and full coat of nacre. Ready for immediate and everyday wear.
