Trefoil Treasures : Antique Clover Conversion Charms in 9ct Rosey Gold

♥Sold♥

The moment I laid eyes on a pair of antique clover cufflinks I knew what needed to be done: transformation. I had them expertly converted into pendants, knowing that these dear treasures would be worn and loved constantly in their new forms. I could see that once upon a time these had been someone’s pride and joy, but that they had been sitting unloved and unworn for a very long time indeed. Sometimes a little glow-up is just the ticket.

Clover or trefoil is the common name given to over 300 flowering plants from the pea family Fabaceae. As a beekeeper I can tell you that honey made from clover blossom is one of the sweetest. Clover is a delicacy relished by my flock of hens, and I understand rates highly as a popular snack amongst our bovine and ovine friends, too.

Known as a shamrock in Ireland, clover is a symbol of luck and good fortune. Clover is considered to be a ward against hexes and other forms of negative energy. Also snakes? As an Australian I’m here to tell you that snakes don’t care about clover, sorry. Maybe snakes from other continents will slither off when confronted with a clover, but nobody gave the critters down here the memo.

Manufacture:
Made in 9ct rosey gold and hallmarked 9ct to the reverse. The front of the clover is engraved with pattern mimicking the veins of clover leaves to excellent effect. At the centre a 3.6mm diameter green garnet topped doublet has been bead set.

Each of the large charms or pendants has had a 9ct gold loop and bail added to the top of the leaf so that it can be worn on a chain or added to a charm bracelet. You might even like to add it to a hoop to wear as an earring.

The clovers measure 22.5mm (not including the bail) x 17.8mm x 3.6mm.
They weigh 2 grams each.

Condition:
Overall in very good antique condition. Please note that the garnet topped doublet in the clover with the stem pointing left has a chip. This gives it a brighter green appearance.
Ready for immediate and everyday wear.

** Please note this listing is for one clover charm. The chain is for styling purposes only and is not included. Should you require a chain please get in touch, we’d love to source something appropriate for you.
