The Seal of Approval : Vintage 9ct Gold Seal Charm with Pearl Ball and Ruby Eyes

A delightful and friendly “sea puppy” as my sister likes to call seals. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of interacting with these sleek sea mammals they do behave very much like puppies – at least when they are young! Theres so much to love about this endearing pinniped, from the earnest curl to the front flippers to the details of it’s ears.

Manufacture:
This vintage three dimensional gold charm is made from 9ct rosy gold. It is exceptionally well made with beautiful details all over, including ruby gemstone eyes and a cultured akoya pearl ball. The bright rubies are too small to determine if they are natural or synthetic, but I’d hazard they are most likely verneuil rubies.

Tiny hallmarks date this British piece to either 1964 or 1966 – I’ve spent ages trying to puzzle out that tiny and rubbed little mark but that’s as close as I can get.
