Description
An absolutely exquisitely made triple ‘button’ brooch from the Edwardian Era circa 1901 – 1911.
Modelled in 935 silver (more pure than Sterling!) and originally gilded this marvellous brooch features individually bead set faux turquoise cabochons, artfully arranged with as much care and attention to detail as the brooches I have seen that feature the natural turquoise cabochons. Just as with natural turquoise the cabochons have slight variation in hue; a masterful mimicry of the natural gemstones.
Hallmarked 935 SilverGilt to the reverse, the brooch has a very sturdy and uniquely sprung pin with a strong c-clasp. The safety chain is built into this ingenious brooch.
Measures 44.15mm x 19.36mm x 10.25mm (not including the pin.) Weighs 10.1 grams.
