Pleasantly warm, like a perfect summery day with a gentle sea breeze and birdsong in the air. This large natural citrine cocktail ring gives me those long lazy summer day feelings.
Dating to the 20th Century but looking very much like the 19th Century, this ring was handmade somewhere between 1930 – 1960 in the Victorian Revival style. The long double prongs and grooved gallery remind me of similar pieces I’ve had that could be confidently dated to the 1930s, but I’ve seen others in a similar style circa dated to 1960. I’m not hugely confident when circa dating 20th Century jewels, but I’d rather be honest with you about that than make something up.
The large natural citrine absolutely glows on the finger – big enough to be attention grabbing, but not so big as to get in the way. The setting is similarly practical, holding the jolly citrine securely yet elegantly in hard wearing 9ct yellow gold.

Handmade in 9ct yellow gold, the ring is not hallmarked by the gold content has been verified via XRF test. Four double prongs hold the large natural citrine securely against the grooved gallery, which leads to forked shoulders and a classic half-round band.
The citrine has been verified as natural by an independent gemologist. It is a warm honey colour (mid yellow orange) and eye clean, with some colour zoning as you would expect in a natural citrine.
The oval cut citrine measures 14mm x 11mm x 6.98mm – approximately 5.3 carats.
The face of the ring measures 14mm x 11mm. The ring sits 6.6mm high on the finger.
