Manufacture:
This piece dates to the middle of the 20th century, circa 1950 and is made in silver and enamel, with a gold wash to the back. It is marked Silver to the reverse.

The front of the brooch is flooded with teal and burgundy enamel. Underneath the glossy colour there is fine patterning in silver describing the delicate veins and patterns of a butterfly wing and body.

The brooch measures 24.6mm x 34.8mm x 7mm.
Weighs 4.3 grams.

Condition: 
In lovely vintage condition with no losses to the enamel. The gilded back of the brooch has developed a patina, not uncommon in vermeil items. Ready to be a bright pop of colour on your coat or hat and certain to win you compliments.
