Lucky 13 : 1913 Crescent Moon Brooch with Garnets and Diamonds in 9ct Gold

Sold

Lucky 13 ♥️
The hallmarks say Chester 1913. There are 13 deep blood red garnets. Coincidence? I think not.

A glorious, Edwardian Era, large crescent moon brooch in perfect original condition featuring thirteen garnets of graduating sizes and 10 diamond chips nestled amongst the red stones for a little extra sparkle.

Manufacture:
Made in 9ct yellow gold, the brooch measures 63mm long x 6.45mm wide x 3.6mm deep – not including the hinge, c-clasp or safety chain loop. It weighs 4.5 grams.
The garnets range in size from 6mm diameter to 1.85mm diameter. The stones are all bead set and they are original to the piece.

Because the pin is cleverly curved to hide behind the brooch it is possible to wear this piece as a pendant without requiring a conversion – just slip a chain behind the fastened pin and she’s ready to go, or slide the pin through the unclasped ends of your favourite chain as an extension. You could also experiment with pinning it through your upswept hair – I know I will if it doesn’t find a new owner quickly.

Condition:
In remarkable original condition without a fault to note. This is a wonderful collectors piece, ready for immediate wear.
