Little Luna : Victorian Rose Cut Garnet Moon & Star Ring

♥SOLD♥

Our darling little Luna, the most mysterious blood moon ❤️🌙
The moon must be the most synonymous of all the symbols for femininity throughout the ages. The Victorians certainly felt this to be the case, with the crescent moon and star motif being one of the most popular. Unlike most crescent moons from this period, this ring also contains the shadowy part of the moon – represented by the glittering rose cut garnet. The single star was believed to light your path, and both the moon and star are decorated with tiny seed pearls, symbolic of purity.

Description

A stunning and unusual antique ring dating from the Victorian Era in the shape of the moon and a star. A  large rose cut garnet features the dark part of a crescent moon. The crescent moon is picked out in seed pearls, with a single peal at the centre of the nearby star.

Made of 9ct rose gold (unmarked but tested). The ring shows signs of being loved and worn with noticeable wear to one point of the star and evidence of resizing to the back of the band. The large garnet has no visible chips or scratches and the well matched bright pearls all have a full coat of nacre. It is in good wearable condition.
