Knife Edge : Antique Old Cut Diamond Solitaire in 18ct Yellow Gold and Platinum

AU$1,400.00

In my mind, this is the ideal Art Deco solitaire.
Absolutely timeless in style, the perfect lines of the knife edge shoulders leading you to a wonderful old world diamond sparkle. Diamonds represent eternity, which is why they have been favourites as engagement rings for the last 100 years (and more). Finding a diamond to represent your eternal love is no small thing, and it’s hard to make that decision from a computer screen. I have to hope that when the right person sees these pictures They Will Just Know.

It’s tricky to pop an exact date on this delicious ring, as the style was first popularised by Tiffany’s in the 1880’s. Due to the use of metals and the cut of the stone, as well as the charming hallmark I am confident this piece dates to the early 20th Century, circa 1920.

Once upon a time there was an engraved dedication inside the band, but it has been worn away with love and time.
