Joyful Symmetry : Art Nouveau Opal Lavalier Pendant in 9ct Rose Gold

Sold

A sweet 9ct rose gold lavalier pendant from the Art Nouveau era, circa 1890 – 1914. This diamond-shaped pendant features two bright solid Australian opal cabochons in claw settings – one at the centre of the pendant (3.4mm diameter) and the other dangling below (4.4mm diameter).

Hallmarked to the reverse 9ct.

Measures 39.71mm from the top of the bail to the bottom of the opal drop, 25.31mm wide and 2.7mm deep. Weighs 1.3 grams.

You can see a little video of this pendant on my Instagram account @secret_histories, or online here.

The solid opals are in perfect condition with no chips or scratches. There are gentle signs of wear commensurate with age – a little bump or two, nothing that detracts from the flowing lines of the design or the functionality of the pendant. The pendant has been professionally polished and is ready for immediate, everyday wear.

A delicate vintage 40.5 cm 9ct gold chain is included, please do let me know if you’re looking for something longer or would prefer the pendant without a chain.
