The sweetest little thing! A Victorian Era small puffy heart pendant or charm, made in 9ct rose gold and pavé set with seed pearls and turquoise cabochons to the front, smooth on the reverse.

The combination of seed pearls and turquoise in the Victorian Era had the dual symbolism of purity (pearls) and the wish to be remembered fondly (turquoise). The turquoise being set in a blue ribbon across the front of the heart is also symbolic of the bluse “Order of the Garter” sash worn by British Royalty. Truly this little heart was made to be given to someone’s little princess.

Comes with an optional vintage 48.5cm / 19″ rose gold rope chain.

Manufacture:
Made in 9ct rose gold, the pendant was hallmarked 9ct to the bail, but it was so worn thin that I had it replaced with a new custom made one. It has been XRF tested to verify the metal content as 9ct rose gold throughout.

Rows of tiny natural seed pearls are bead set over the front surface of the heart, with an oblique stripe of blue turquoise cabochons across the middle. Smooth to the reverse.

The heart measures 21.5mm long including the bail or 16.37mm without the bail x 11.4mm x 5.8mm

The optional vintage rose gold rope chain is 48.5cm (19″) long and 1.66mm thick. Fastens with a bolt ring. The chain does not have any hallmarks, but the metal has been verified as 9ct gold by XRF test.

Condition:
In absolutely lovely vintage condition. The pearls some some very slight variations in colour, as should be expected in an antique item, but are all present with a full coat of nacre. The natural turquoises are all robins egg blue – very fine specimens. A delightful little survivor, this charm is ready for immediate wear, but do wear her with care – to preserve the pearls please avoid getting it wet.
