Description
A bold statement ring from the MidCentury Era, modelled in 14ct rosey gold and set with a huge synthetic (lab) yellow sapphire cabochon.
The high dome of the sapphire cabochon has a lensing effect, reflecting and rotating the scenery around it. It’s truly mesmerising to watch, I kept wondering if I was going to hypnotise myself! The colour changes with the light from buttercup yellow through to a deep sunshine orange, much like all the varieties of honey swirling around inside a magic dome.
The synthetic sapphire cabochon measures 16mm x 13.25mm x 8.5mm – about 20 carats.
It is held by an array of high prongs with decorative gold baubles around the outside of the setting.
The face of the ring measures 20.6mm x 16.9mm.
Sits 12.15mm high on the finger.
The band is flat and wide, measuring 3.1mm wide and 0.8mm thick.
No hallmarks are present, gold content has been verified by XRF test.
