Hello Gorgeous : Victorian Amethyst Rose Gold Ring with Engraved Shoulders

♥Sold♥

The word amethyst has its origins in an ancient Ancient Greek work meaning “not-intoxicated”, for it was believed that this stone could prevent its owner from succumbing to the effects of alcohol. However, I find this particular gemstone completely intoxicating 💜  It is a delicious rose amethyst hue and reflects the light beautifully in both shade and sunlight. It feels powerful, regal and even a touch wicked to wear.

This stunning Victorian Era ring was made in the late 1800s of rose gold and features large natural Amethyst gemstone in a 9ct rose gold setting with a wide band with engraved shoulders. The gemstone is held in place with 16 long and luxurious claws, all in perfect original condition.

The cushion cut Amethyst measures 12.2mm x 8.8mm x 7mm with an approximate weight of 4.36 carats and is in lovely antique condition with barely and wear to the stone facets.

The ring is not hallmarked but has been xrf tested to verify gold content. There is no damage or signs of repairs, however there is evidence of an old resize (and could be resized again without difficulty.)

You can see a video of this incredible ring in action on my Instagram feed @secret_histories, or online here.

The ring sits 7mm high on the finger.
It weighs 3.3 grams
The band is 4mm wide and 0.5mm thick.
