Golden Wattle : Australian Art Deco Wedding Ring in 18ct with Wattle Pattern

Sold

Since the establishment of the Australian colonies jewellers have experimented with incorporating the unique Australian flora and fauna into jewellery design. As the times and trends changed the ways in which these motifs were incorporated also adapted. In this ring we see the wheat design, which was extremely in vogue during the 1920’s and 10930’s, adapted for an Australian market – the chevron-like pattern morphing into Australian wattle. Wattle (or acacia) comes in many varieties but there’s always a fluffy golden flower ball involved 💛  Sometimes on their own, sometimes in clusters.
