Eternal Bind : Vintage Handmade Rope Ring with Diamonds in 9ct Yellow Gold

♥Sold♥

Rope has been used as a symbol of eternal and unbreaking love for centuries. It was especially popular in the Victorian Era when ropes and sailboats had a much greater import in daily life. Ropes and knots were skills every practical person needed to know – from securing a load, tying a jib or sewing a stitch knots and ropes were ubiquitous. This golden rope dates to the 1970’s or 1980’s, but the sincerity of the symbol is still crystal clear. The rope pattern forms an eternity – unbroken all the way around the band. Two small brilliant cut diamonds are nestled into one of the hand pierced sections – perhaps as a nod to romantic ‘toi et moi’ (you and me) engagement rings.

Manufacture:
Handmade in 9ct yellow gold and set with two brilliant cut diamonds. The ring has been hand pierced and engraved to form a stylised rope which continues unbroken all the way around the ring.

Stamped 375 to the inside of the band for 9ct gold. The bright and lively diamonds are set in white gold.

The ring is 4.72mm wide and 1mm thick. Weighs 1.9 grams.

Size L1/2 or 6.5
not resizable

Condition:
In lovely vintage condition. I’ve left the patina in tact, but would be happy to polish it to a high shine for you if requested. The white metal around the diamonds shows signs of wear commensurate with age, but that is the only minor detail to note.
