Darling Details : Art Deco Old European Cut Trilogy Ring in 18ct and Platinum

♥Sold♥

An entirely delightful early Art Deco trilogy ring, set with Old European cut, brilliant cut and small single cut diamonds. The diamonds are bright, white and very lively. They sparkle magnificently in low light or bright sunshine. An absolute darling of a ring.

Trilogy rings were popular engagement ring choices throughout the Edwardian and Art Deco Eras – the three stones were said to represent the past, present and future – the largest or centre stone representing the present. A sweet and scintillating reminder of the power of love to endure over time, through good times and bad.

Manufacture:
The ring is modelled in 18ct with a platinum top. Each of the the diamonds is set in its own snug little platinum topped bezel, with milgrain detail. The shoulders feature a clever little arrangement of diamonds and triangles to form a stylised ‘bow’ shape, with a little hand pierced triangle between. This little glimpse of negative space is what makes this lovely piece that little bit extra special. Each of the shapes is again bordered with milgrain, and bead set with a single cut diamond.

There is a worn 18ct mark inside the band, the metal content has been verified by XRF test as 18ct yellow gold and platinum.

The central old European cut diamond is approximately 2.5mm diameter, 0.07 carats, G-H in colour and P1 clarity.
The two flanking diamonds measure approximately 2.35mm in diameter, 0.11 carats total. They have been graded whist set as G-H in colour, S1-S2 in clarity. One is an Old European cut, the other a Brilliant cut (likely a replacement).
The six smaller diamonds set into the shoulders are a mixture of single cut and brilliant cut diamonds have a combined carat weight of 0.06. They have been assessed as GH colour, VS1 in clarity.
The total combined carat weight of the diamonds is 0.24 carats.

The face of the ring measures 10.72mm x 3.52mm. The ring sits 3.75mm high on the finger. Weighs 2.07 grams.

Condition:
I fell so in love with this little darling that I had her professionally restored with a handmade platinum top plate. She is now completely refreshed but retains her old world style. The restored setting makes her suitable as an engagement or everyday ring, the best of old and new.

This ring comes with an independent insurance valuation dated May 2021 valuing the ring at $1995 Australian dollars.

***Please note the antique ring box is for styling purposes only. This ring will arrive in a beautiful presentation box.
