Cute as a Button : Late Victorian Earrings in 18ct Gold with Seed Pearls

♥Sold♥

The focus for jewellery in the later years of the Victorian Era was on the neck and wrists, and not at the ears. Consequently earrings from this period are quite small – absolutely perfect for everyday wear in contemporary life. This pair date to about 1890.

Manufacture:
Made in bloomed 18ct yellow gold, with a rope border of 18ct rose gold and set with a seed pearl in a starburst setting. The earrings have no hallmarks but have been XRF tested to verify the metal as 18ct gold.

They fix to the earlobe with a slender hook wire at the back, which can be cleverly fastened shut with a loop at the bottom of the earring that slips up over the wire.

The earrings measure 13mm in diameter and weigh 1.6 grams for the pair. They are so light and easy to wear you’ll forget you have them on.

Condition:
In beautiful antique condition with no signs of repair. Ready for immediate and everyday wear.
