Cobalt Cluster : Antique Sapphire Trilogy Ring with Diamond Halo

♥Sold♥

She’s got everything: a trilogy of bright blue natural sapphires, a diamond halo, crisp antique English hallmarks all wrapped up in buttery 18ct yellow gold. This old girls is going to pair just as well with your blue jeans and white tee as she will with your Friday night finest 💙 Destined to be one of your favourites.

Trilogy rings are understood to represent the Past, Present and Future, the centre stone being the Present. In this case the present has been wrapped in a glittering halo of diamonds. A most unusual combination of motifs – absolutely charming.

Manufacture:
Made in 18ct yellow gold and set with three oval natural blue sapphires and small natural diamonds.

All of the gemstones have been verified as natural by an independent gemologist. The larger central sapphire has the sought after cornflower colour and inclusions that suggest it is of Ceylonese origin. The two shoulder sapphires compliment the brighter cobalt blue stone well. On the hand they appear to be the same colour, but a slightly deeper hue can be seen in the shoulder stones when examined closely.

A halo of small diamonds surrounds the central sapphire. They are a mix of rose cut and single cut diamonds, each individually set in high claws which allow the maximum amount of light to reach each of the glittering surfaces.

The ring is hallmarked inside the shoulder with the crown and 18 hallmarks, and again inside the back of the band with a full set of British hallmarks that denote the ring having been assayed in Chester in 1912.
The makers mark S.U. Ltd. is also present, which has been anecdotally linked with Solomon Ullmann of Hatton Garden.

The central oval sapphire measures approximately 3.6mm x 4.9mm. The shoulder sapphires are 2.8mm x 3.8mm.
The face of the ring measures 16.9mm x 8.96mm.
sits 3.4mm high on the finger.
Weighs 3.1 grams

Size M or 6.25
resizable, but this may interfere with the hallmarks so please do be careful.

Condition:
In very good antique condition. All the stones have had their settings tightened and the gold has been professionally polished. This ring was intended as a dress ring rather than an everyday ring, so please do wear with care. It will not mind getting wet.
