Bold Star : Victorian Blue Enamel and Pearl Medallion in 18ct Gold

♥Sold♥

Shining brightly like a medal of valour, this heavy golden pendant dates to the Victorian Era, circa 1880. A perfect blue enamel hexagram star is bead set with lustrous natural sea pearls, all original to the piece.

Manufacture:
Made from solid 18ct gold and skilfully converted from an extra large stick pin by my jeweller, with a brand new 18ct loop and jump ring. The enamel is in perfect original condition. The pearls are all original to the piece and have a full coat of nacre. The golden medallion is framed with a thin rope border, followed by a border of golden beads in the Etruscan Revival style.
The piece is not hallmarked but the metal content has been verified by XRF test.

Measures 24.5mm including the bail and jump ring x 18.3mm x 3.77mm
Weighs 4.9 grams

Condition:
The surface of the pendant is is excellent condition. There is evidence of the conversion to the back of the piece – because of the delicate pearls and enamel we were not able to remove all signs of the original pin fittings. There is also a fine inscription to the back, probably a jewellers inventory mark, that reads H8 KK. Of course these are not visible when the pendant is worn but are mentioned here for transparency.
A beautiful and unique piece, ready for immediate and everyday wear.
