Description
A sweet and sentimental ‘honeymoon’ brooch from the Edwardian era, these tokens of affection were traditionally given by the groom to his bride in the first year of marriage.
The brooch is in the shape of a crescent moon, decorated with a spray of trifoil – one trifoil flower set with three blue garnet topped doublets (imitating sapphires) and two more trifoil leaves set with seed pearls, held together with a golden ribbon also set with pearls.
Modelled in 9ct yellow gold except for the pin. Bears a full set of English hallmarks to the back for Birmingham 1907 and makers mark G&W.
The brooch measures 46.41mm from tip to tip and is 16.5mm wide. It weighs 2.5 grams.
The brooch is in lovely condition, ready for immediate wear – or could be converted into a pendant by your jeweller.
