Circa 1860, this tasteful little jewel has a big presence when worn. It was likely a mourning jewel when it was made, signifying that the wearer had recently lost someone dear to them. Today its striking motif in black and gold is supremely contemporary.

The head of the pin is modelled in 18ct yellow gold, with the pin itself in 9ct for durability. The enamel is in pristine condition and the bezel set banded agate is likewise free of chips and blemishes.

The decorative head of the pin measures 12.2mm in diameter and is 6mm deep, not including the pin hardware. The agate measures 6.5mm in diameter. The pin has a length of 68.5mm and weighs 2.1 grams
